Battlegroup
Name: Medium Tank |
Had
it not been for the appearance of the Russian T-34 and KV-1 tanks, the Panther
may have never entered production. Designed in direct response to these
threats, the Panther G entered service in early 1943. Arguably the finest
tank produced during WWII, the Panther had an impressive combination of
armor and armament. Its presence had such a psychological impact on American
units that they consistently misidentified German tanks as Panthers. |
| Heavily armed and armored, you can afford to get a bit sloppy with the Panther. Any blitzkrieg actions should center on these teams. To make the most of the Panther's strengths, initially deploy it in areas that allow you to engage targets at ranges greater than 120 meters. As with any tank, it is most vulnerable in confined spaces. If it must pass through forested and urban areas, be sure to send in infantry teams to recon your route. | |
