Name: Medium Tank |
Also
known as the Panzerkampfwagen IV, the Mark IV entered production in 1935
and continued throughout the war. Eventually becoming the most prolific
tank of the German army. One of the keys to its success was assembly line
construction. It was manufactured in four complete sub-components. All assembly
line workers had to do in the end was literally bolt them together. An added
benefit to this style of production was the ease of upgrading. The Mark
IV underwent several improvements and modifications. As an example, models
A-E were outfitted with a short-barreled 7.5cm main gun; while models F
and later mounted a long-barreled L/48. |
| Not as fearsome as the Panther, the Mark IV will still serve well under your command. With its 7.5cm main gun, two machineguns, and smoke discharger, the Mark IVG is an excellent utility package. Equipped with schürzen to protect the tracks, you have added protection from immobilization. As long as you can keep enemy tanks from engaging you 2-vs-1 you should do fine. | |
