Battlegroup
Name: Heavy AT Gun |
The
PaK 43 actually began its inception as an anti-aircraft gun in the Gerät
42 project. Due to design limitations the project was eventually canceled.
The designs from the former endeavor were funneled into the creation of
an anti-tank weapon. The end result being the PaK 43. After the war, British
engineers examined its unique semi-automatic loading system. It was their
hope that a similar mechanism could be adapted to British designs. However,
the investigation found that the tolerances of German engineering could
not be replicated in British armories. |
| Similar in abilities to the 8.8cm Flak, the PaK 43 should be used in much the same manner. When used in the defensive roll, place it in a position with a clear line of sight to likely avenues of approach. When used offensively, it is more important to place it in an area with a commanding view of the battlefield. | |
