Name: Heavy AT Gun |
The
first prototype testing for the 8.8cm Flak 18 began in 1929. Its inception
was actually due to the failure of a 7.5cm version. As the name implies,
these are actually anti-aircraft weapons. They entered anti-tank service
once it was found that their high-velocity rounds were very effective at
penetrating thick armor plate. Like the Panther G, the 88s had a fearsome
reputation among Allied troops. |
| This is the most powerful gun that you will get, make good use of it. With a rate of fire approaching nine rounds per minute, an exposed armored vehicle is as good as dead. Make sure to guard your 88s well, you won't get them very often. | |
